Why do we use WordPress so often?

Wordpress is an open-source solution. This means the base code (and many plugins) are freely distributed. Recently, it hasn’t been uncommon for designers and developers to utilize the ease of WordPress for their own benefits while charging their customers the same rate for content edits and additions.

Total Control
It’s YOUR website. Nobody knows your business better than you so YOU should be in control. Content creation and updating can be one of the most costly aspects of maintaining a dynamic site and, while there is still plenty for developers to do on your behalf, you’ll never need to call us for updates or those critical information changes that arise.

Who Has The Time?
We know how tough and time-consuming running a business can be. It’s hard to find the time to fiddle with your website or social marketing. We certainly offer advice along the way. Things like blogging at least once per week and daily Facebook activity (but not too much!) build stronger foundations in your online presence. Setting an online marketing schedule for yourself or someone in your organization can be the most cost-effective marketing effort at your disposal. We’re certainly available to do these things for you, but WordPress makes it easy. You’ll see. =)

Fire Through Spirit was one of our first exercises in transforming an existing, strictly HTML design (still able to be viewed here) in to a WordPress structure, allowing Corbie the flexibility to update content on her own. Quickly browsing her site will reveal that she has certainly taken to it with ease and is publishing the type of quality content every site owner should strive to do. With her existing following and excellent writing skills, FireThroughSpirit.com has quickly garnered even more attention in the community and solidified her place among the top of her peers.

One of the largest distributors of CATV products in the country, West 1 CATV Supplies was in need of a new web presence. They needed a custom solution for importing their HUGE inventory in to the site on a daily basis and allow visitors to search for an item and find the quantity they had on-hand in their massive warehouse. Along with offering manufacturer downloads for popular items that move through their warehouse, we implemented an easy-to-use photo gallery to showcase the tons of gear they have.

Utilizing WordPress as the core structure and building upon that with some custom PHP, they now have a site they can update as often as they’d like using an intuitive content management system.

Their project included custom Twitter and Facebook pages linked directly from their site.

The West 1 team are a fantastic, professional bunch of folks and we look forward to working with them to further evolve West 1 CATV’s web presence past the Web 2.0 standards.

Greg and Samantha Ensign are Coldwell Banker Realtors based out of Charleston, South Carolina. After reading an article about a fellow real estate agent converting over to WordPress for their site, they started thinking about ways to improve their own web presence. Samantha, already having some experience with WordPress, came to us to develop the new CharlestonHomesRUs.com knowing she would be able to add to and update the site’s content.

They had already been utilizing the service of MLSFinder.com to incorporate MLS search features in their old site. We brought that over to their new WordPress site, spread their brand across Facebook and Twitter, plugged in Feedburner subscription capabilites and they were off and running!

Ensign Realtors are respected, down-to-earth professionals and are a true asset to anyone looking not only to relocate to Charleston, but anywhere in the world.

Resolution Recycling (currently under development) is an electronics recycling company based out of Waynesville, NC. Their brand needed to convey the “green” benefits their industry provides while maintaining a technology theme. The compass rose reflects their parent company, West 1 Holdings, infusing the brand recognition that ensures the quality that West 1 provides.

The folks over at Perch Pub, located in Philadelphia, PA, were looking for a fresh brand for their new pub-themed restaurant. Located on Philly’s Art Walk, the brand needed to display an artistic flair while presenting a traditional pub feel to highlight their unique beer and micro-brew menu. If you’re ever in the area, this is a must stop for anyone with a healthy appetite and thirst for quality.

Greater Navigator is a company we’ve had the pleasure of working along side in developing their offering of open source content management applications, Google partner tools, social media sharing tools, and ultra high quality video and photo publishing portals. Their concept offers a truly organic community news and information portal suitable for any region or community. If you need a publishing platform geared towards the average internet users’ experience level, this is a perfect solution.
